R.I.S.E. MIDDLE PROGRAM

ABOUT

THE

PROGRAMS

R.I.S.E. Elementary vs R.I.S.E. Middle

We offer two separate programs for students depending on their grade level. The R.I.S.E. Elementary Program is tailored for students in grades 3 - 5 while the R.I.S.E. Middle Program is tailored for students in grades 6 - 8. The programs vary more in terms of level of difficulty and depth, rather than in overarching content topics

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

This year, we have decided to split the original program into two different series -- Entrepreneurship & Marketing and Finance -- therefore a more comprehensive curriculum can be offered to students. Both series will be offered for two different age groups -- elementary and middle.

R.I.S.E. Entrepreneurship & Marketing Series

This series of workshops’ aim is to educate students on the fundamental principles of entrepreneurship  and marketing through engaging activities such as guided notes, videos, games, and projects.

Students will learn:

  • What it takes to be an entrepreneur (even at a young age)

  • The steps required to plan and start one’s own business

  • The steps to create a business plan

  • The skills required to market and advertise products or services effectively

  • Adjust marketing strategies to effectively target various markets

Goal: Students will use their newly obtained skills to create their own business as their final project. This is a great way for kids to express their creativity, think outside the box, and learn something new in a virtual classroom setting.

R.I.S.E. Finance Series

This series of workshops will strive to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of basic personal finance through engaging activities such as guided notes, games, worksheets, videos, and more!

Students will learn:

  • The importance of responsibly managing money from a young age

  • How to make purchasing decisions while also considering alternatives

  • How advertising can affect purchasing decisions

  • Gain an understanding of saving for the future and ways to do so

Goal: Students will learn to make wise money-related decisions in the future, which is a vital life skill that is tremendously important for the future in order for our community to be financially literate.
